ISC Graduate Spotlight: Marco Krikorian

Written by Tokyo Sushi Academy | 2026/09/04 8:25

Originally from Guadeloupe, a French island in the Caribbean, Marco is an owner-chef who runs his own restaurant. Even after graduation, he has continued his stay in Japan, making the most of every opportunity to explore the country and deepen his appreciation of Japanese food and culture.

After completing the course, Marco traveled to Sakai, a city renowned for its long tradition of Japanese knife craftsmanship, where he purchased a new kitchen knife. This week, he also visited Tsukiji for some shopping and stopped to purchase a traditional Japanese work outfit, complete with personalized embroidery.

While he was in the area, Marco kindly stopped by our Tsukiji school today to say hello. His visit was a wonderful surprise, and it was great to see him continuing to enjoy Japan even after graduation.

Marco’s curiosity, enthusiasm, and love for Japan made him a wonderful member of the Tokyo Sushi Academy community. We look forward to seeing how he brings the skills, experiences, and inspiration he gained in Japan back to his own restaurant.
