A. Tokyo Sushi Academy(TSA) is Japan’s premier sushi school. It was also the first school opened with the sole purpose of teaching the art of sushi making in Japanese & English. Since TSA was established in 2002, TSA turned out more than 4,000 graduates from all over the world.

A. Tokyo Sushi Academy has two branches in Tokyo(Shinjuku and Tsukiji).

Q. What kind of courses offered?

A. We offer these courses as below.

International Sushi Chef Course (5weeks course)

Q. Are the classes in English? Do I have to know Japanese?

A. We provide the lesson in English. Some lectures may be  instructed by Japanese and translated by interpreter in English. Japanese language skill is not required for our courses.

Q. I have no cooking experience. Can I still take this course?

A. Yes, this course is designed for both professionals and beginners who have no cooking experience.

Q. How many people are there in each class?

A. The maximum class size is 12 students.

Q. May I receive the certificate?

A. You will be receiving the certificate upon successfully completing the course with passing the exams.

*Certificate will be given to those who complete International Sushi Chef course.

Q.

Q. Please tell about refund policy.

A. We will refund your tuition on your cancellation if you inform us your cancellation the day before your registered course starts. However the registration fee is non refundable.

Q. What do students do on the weekend?

A. Students are free to explore Tokyo or even near by cities on the weekend.

Q. Can I learn Japanese while I take your course?

A. Some students take Japanese lessons after the classes while they study.

Q.

Q. Do I get a whole fish to practice in class?

A. Yes, mostly you get a whole fish to practice slicing and varieties, 
except the big fish like TUNA that you will get a block for the practice.

Q. Is the class more on lectures? or Practical lessons?

A. It's the combination of both. For the first few days, you will get a lot.

Q. Do I need to prepare Japanese kitchen knife?

A. Yes, If you do not have your own knife, we recommend that you buy our school Japanese knife set.

You are welcome to bring your own,too. We require particular 3 types of knives for class use, which size and the quality has to meet. Our instructor can check your knife quality, in case it doesn't meet the requirements, pls note that you might need to purchase them with uson the first day of school. Please check our knife information for the details.

Q. What is enrollment process?

A. Here is process for enrollment.

1) Please click apply button and submit information.
2) We will review your application and contact you to arrange whatsapp/Zoom  interview in 3 business days.
3) After your application is accepted, we send you an invoice
4) Payment is completed
5) You will be all set

*For those who are required to obtain visa to enter Japan, we assist them visa support after we confirm full payment.

Q. Is Accommodation Available?

A. We are sorry that we do not have our own accommodation. However we will share accommodation information with you and support to find it.

Q. Can I connect with other students from TSA?

A. Yes, absolutely! We have our official SNS including IG/FB/Community site which  you can join and connect with our students and graduates, even with instructors and faculty members.

Internship and Job

Q. Can I do internship during or after the course in Japan?

A. Yes, you can start your sushi chef career after graduating from TSA, most of our non -experienced graduates start from assistant chef level.

Q. Can I work in Japan after I graduated from TSA?

A. If you have a proper visa to stay and allow you to work in Japan, YES,

Q. Can I start working as a sushi chef after taking your course?

A. Yes, you can start your sushi chef career after graduating from TSA, most of our non -experienced graduates start from assistant chef level.

Q. Where can I find a job as a sushi chef after I get certificate from TSA?

A. We have a job posting portal site called "SUSHI JOB", where you can register and apply for a job, which offers from all sushi & Jps restarurants in the world.
